Mission
The DeSoto County public information office is a component of the administration department. The public information coordinator provides news and resources to residents, handles media inquiries about the county, and serves as spokesperson for the local government. During weather crises and at other times of elevated public concern, the public information coordinator also works with the emergency management department and the sheriff's office to assist in transmitting vital information to the community.
